A member of the Paris Bar since 2006, after spending 25 years as in-house counsel in the oil industry (Mobil Oil & ExxonMobil), Jean-François has extensive experience in business law in France, Africa and Mauritius.

    • his clients there operate in the banking, manufacturing, publishing, and tourism sectors, among others

    • he provides assistance to a growing number of French and Mauritian clients in estate law cases – « dossiers de succession »

  • Assistance to a large Mauritian company in connection with a luxury hotel and real estate project in Marrakech
  • A three-way joint venture for the supply of internet services to a small Indian Ocean island
  • Legal, tax and practical advice to individuals who are interested in moving to or investing in Mauritius, especially in luxury real estate
  • Services to a number of Irish clients who were misled into investing in French “résidences de tourisme”
  • A number of “dossiers de succession” for French and Mauritian clients
  • Proceedings in Monaco, Belgium and Mauritius in connection with collecting a debt from a former expat of a Mauritian bank
  • Advice to a publishing company based in France and Mauritius, and which markets its products in several French speaking African countries
  • The drafting of a complex contract between two Africa-based companies for the management of a LPG depot (storage, bottling and distribution)
  • Pre-litigation/settlement negotiations in Italy in order to collect damages from an insurance company as a result of a lawyer’s negligence in a judicial proceeding
